[Golden Peacock] Spying Permissions

ICly, Dodger is collecting information about various characters around GP and compiling them into a conspiracy board on the wall/s of his suite. This includes photographs taken without their knowledge, information on power-sets, connections to other characters, and general notes about their personalities and habits, along with notes on his own personal interactions with them.

Dodger can turn invisible and teleport, which means that he may break into suites and follow others around without them noticing. His teleportation makes a loud sound and a flash of light/heat and his invisibility does not affect smell or sound, so he's still detectable but relatively sneaky. Dodger has a few contacts he's sharing information with, and he's also willing to sell information to pretty much anyone who pays for it with chips or sexual favors. This also means he might have information gained from one of them, rather than gathering it by spying on his own.

Also worth noting that because Dodger is following people around pretty much at random, he may end up spying on threads! If you would like him to be aware of what happened in a thread (and assume he was just nearby and invisible), please link it to me over plurk/discord. This can include threads happening in someone's room or another theoretically private space.

Mostly just that his appearance isn't entirely constant; it shifts (more when people are with him and effect it) even if it stays roughly around the same set of features. Also tentacles can make an appearance whenever he wants them to though he's careful with that. Damage to him is fucking pointless; he is absolutely what you would call a hit point sponge.

Can Dodger break into their suite? If so, is there anything interesting he might find there? Bonus if anything in their suite has traveled through time or across dimensions. It's a janky little 4 suite so sure but 1. his roommate is Arthur Lester so you might find a feral surprise and 2. there's not much interesting there other than his glasses that were a gift from the House.

What things are they clearly interested in / likely to be tempted by? Beautiful things, art, poetry, stories, music, color, experience, *very* mundane shit.

Is there anything else that would be good to know / immediately apparent about them? His voice is unnaturally deep and sort of 'flattened' and resonates oddly.

What things are they clearly interested in / likely to be tempted by? Anything that reminds him of home/Hans. He is fascinated by indoor plumbing more than a lot of other modern inventions. He's eager to learn about everything, though. Mostly he's tempted by being able to help people. I guess he could be tempted by religious redemption too but he doesn't think he can get that from being here u know...

Usually your standard medieval Catholic recitations, but with personal touches like keeping Hans safe and forgiving him for liking dudes and also thinking about Pebbles and Mutt.

Hmm. I think I'd rather you ask specifically per-instance and I can approve what I think is a logical handwaved knowledge acquisition. At the very least I can definitely say that Dodger is welcome to any information shared ICly as well as anything publicly available on the network.

What powers/magic would Dodger be able to gather info about by watching them?
If someone can sense magic, she has a high internal generation of magical energy that peaks at about 2am. She can align to almost all elements, and is sensitive to magic herself. She may occasionally use certain types of "small" magic for mundane tasks (reheating tea) but otherwise she's spent all her life used to pretending to be normal in front of the public so it's a rare sighting unless she's doing paid/commissioned services. Also Toma is free to share whatever he's gleaned from this with Dodger.

Can Dodger break into their suite? If so, is there anything interesting he might find there?
He can try, but beyond the standard locks that the suites have preventing entry w/o scanning the individual's watch, Rin also has placed magical wards around her suite creating a "bounded field" (basically turning her room into a magical lockbox). The only people who come and go while she isn't there is housekeeping.

I'm happy to let him have a lot of info on her, but she's also the type that was raised suspicious of others and tends to be generally reserved (well... she's easy to rile and whip up into blowing her own cover so I'd like to strike a balance).

No powers/magic, but (as he’s probably seen in person), there’s weird scarring on his left leg, back, and right shoulder, left wrist, and forehead. These, if looked at by someone who senses magic, would probably give off “magic radiation” sort of vibes.

Can Dodger break into their suite? If so, is there anything interesting he might find there? Yes he can break in. He’d find Jayce’s ~~diary~~ journal, which contains his thoughts on the resort. There’s a second journal that documents his sexual thoughts, and then a third journal on his notes about Dodger’s therapy. There’s also about a two dozen books ""borrowed"" from the library on topics like (sexy) therapy, (sexy) plants, (sexy) medicine, and (sexy) explosives.

What things are they clearly interested in / likely to be tempted by? It’s really not hard to tempt him. Extremely easily led by his dick or convinced to do things, especially if he likes the other person or wants to impress them in some way.

Generally, increased strength, durability, and senses, as well as a vulnerability to silver and fire (take note of that one especially, Dodger). Also, that he tends to slip more into wolf mode the angrier he gets: claws, yellow eyes, fur, the usual. Also probably funny if Dodger realizes he can't get drunk despite how much he drinks. Pain and suffering for Bigby.

Absolutely, but Bigby will know whenever he does and chew him out for it. A plus for Dodger, surely. His suite is pretty barebones. Bottles of alcohol, a perpetually filled ashtray, maybe a few scattered notes of his own that will mostly be kept vague for reasons like this. There's also a picture of him and his mama he stole from Goldenville (cute!). If Dodger is especially sneaky, he might be able to find another photo too; Bigby will not be happy to know about this or be willing to talk about either.

Temptations are one thing, but outside of his usual vices of smoking and drinking, he does enjoy reading (preference for American Literature, but he's always good with mystery and gothic horror), watching movies, playing pool, and listening to music (a range of 60s-80s songs). He also might actually start going to the gym for real to spar because he needs enrichment. Dodger already has Bigby's biggest temptation on lock, so lol, lmao even. Biggest relapse of the century. At some point the VR cannibalism is not going to be enough.

Dodger already knows he's not human, so probably just all the details that go into that. He's decent at playing human, but a lot of his wolfish tendencies can be pretty obvious once you realize he's literally a wolf. Otherwise, he probably reads as some kind of law enforcement just based on how he snoops around and asks questions. There's also something to said that, despite generally coming off as gruff and stoic, a lot about the Golden Peacock makes him super flustered even if he won't openly admit it (practically-a-virgin-who-can't-drive vibes).

Probably anything specifically about him being the Big Bad Wolf or about Fables in general!

Yes, though it would probably not be helpful really because Kiritsubo is seen across the resort with a shocking amount of pcs and guests every day and night and there wouldn’t really be anyone who stands out to an observer as like… someone she sees them “more” than anyone else. So he could know she is extremely social and well connected but no one would stand out as “special”, if that makes sense.

What powers/magic would Dodger be able to gather info about by watching them? He wouldn’t know how she does it, whether it’s illusions or a spell or biological or what, but she must be able to change her shape somehow. It seems like her distinctive tattoos stay the same across the shapes, though, because she usually has her cleavage showing and one is on there. The more people he asks about Kiritsubo the more different responses he’ll hear. She’s a busty blonde, no she’s a cute redhead, no a young girl, no a handsome young man, no a much older woman, no a buff guy… This goes on. Nothing absurdly different about behavior, just shape.

Can Dodger break into their suite? If so, is there anything interesting he might find there? He can, but please tell me if he does because Kiritsubo would be able to tell someone had done so. If he does… there’s nothing of interest at all in there, it barely looks even lived in. There’s just clothes and some random items but nothing that looks like personal affects or even personal touches in the decor, it’s just the standard resort suite.

What things are they clearly interested in / likely to be tempted by? Kiritsubo is known to be a drinker, a smoker and a casual sex fiend even by resort standards. Very few people who claim to know Kiritsubo haven’t also been fucked by Kiritsubo, she’s a usual guest at npc orgies and other parties. She also seems to tell fortunes sometimes, and is known for her tattooing skills. (Some PCs in the resort have her ink on them, including Dabi, Genya, Loki, and Chobe. But that info would probably have to come from them.)

Is there anything else that would be good to know / immediately apparent about them? Nothing else stands out immediately. To most eyes, Kiritsubo is just some kind of shape changing hedonist who doesn’t seem at all bothered by being in GP.

Unfortunately for Dodger, despite how casual this all sounds… Kiritsubo is an extremely aware and private individual, and on top of that she has a supernaturally powerful sense of smell. So he won’t be privy to any thread contents with PCs that are not openly stated to take place in a crowd, because even if he was invisible she would be able to pick out his scent. And now that they are meeting in person… she’ll be able to identify that scent. (So uh I guess if you ever wanna assume she fucked someone semi-publicly but like. Was looking in the direction his scent was coming from the whole time with a little smirk on her face… lmk we could maybe do that sometime lol she’s Like That.)

What powers/magic would Dodger be able to gather info about by watching them? Depending on how closely he watches, Vash has basic superhuman senses/abilities. He's fast, agile, strong, and durable. Other stuff is probably off limits considering Vash does not use his other powers at all. He tries very hard to be subtle about it and pass as human out of habit. He rarely leads with revealing that he's not human and might even talk around it and avoid the topic completely.

Can Dodger break into their suite? Yeah this is fine, but Vash is pretty utilitarian when he doesn't have his personal belongings (of which he actually has very few), and has no personal items from home at the moment. If this changes I'll update this comment.

What things are they clearly interested in / likely to be tempted by? Meeting people, honestly. Vash is also incredibly motivated to protect and help others, to a self sacrificial degree. Also he's a junkfood junkie closes my eyes about this....

Is there anything else that would be good to know / immediately apparent about them? The prosthetic arm. The material isn't metal or glass, but some kind of third thing that is semi-translucent and very, very durable. It cuts off almost in the middle between his shoulder and elbow. Some of it is clearly shielding, but can be removed to show the connection port underneath. Behavior wise, Vash is kind of standoffish in the way that he seems to linger around the edge of a crowd and observe rather than actively diving in unless there's a reason to. He's friendly but in an arms-length kind of way.

Is there anything you definitely do not want Dodger to figure out off-screen? Not that I can think of, I'm really easy going. Most of what Vash has going on beyond what I've said requires canon familiarity but I am happy to go with whatever is fun and/or funny. Can Dodger spy on your character? yeah, it's really not hard even tbh. Olivine's a creature of habit so he starts pretty much every day at talon, and he's had no reason to be concerned with being followed.

Can I reference CR charts for information on who your character is connected to? of course! It isn't current yet but I shhhhhould fix that... For oli himself he won't even bat a lash since he's. Not very secretive. And he has a lot of bou/friends...

It'll be easier to find his connection with some of them than any actual information on the character in question (Rei in particular is quite secretive, but also he and Quincy frequently stay in oli's suite, and Kleken is.... Kleken sure is. Good luck figuring out truth with him).

What powers/magic would Dodger be able to gather info about by watching them?
- that he's just obnoxiously strong, for starters. It's harder to define in gp since he's not casually lifting like 90 pounds of flour one-handed like he did in canon... he'll definitely get an idea if he tails oli when he's doing grocery shopping though.
- For magic, he's most likely to see healing magic at any given time, which is his specialty... otherwise it's kind of hard to describe because magic in nukani is tied to essence, so you can kind of do anything with it if you know how to manipulate it, and Olivine... went to academy for that. Ssghx he doesn't use it much in gp though so we can yap if we need to figure out a specific.

In general, I'm down for that. For the sake of Quincy and Rei, we'll just handwave that it only happens when their stuff is secured and not snoopable until/unless they say otherwise. Damn those invisible walls! Olivine does have his holy book, which is still directly attuned to Olivine and sacred, so it'll read as fairly ancient magic.

Sighs... jewelry and sex toys especially. Also paints and other crafting items in general. He's not as likely to be tempted to do anything that feels morally wrong even with strong bribes, but it also wouldn't be the first time he had to talk himself down from ~~joining a cult orgy~~doing something he shouldn't.

The gemstone above his navel is a part of him, serving as a magical contract that is centuries older than he is. It will also read as God-adjacent, because it's what lets Olivine tap into the borrowed power from the Grand Sorcerer (among other spoilers Olivine isn't privy to so far). He does NOT clock it as related to Actual God, just that it's part of himself that he was born with.
