[Without even the slightest reaction, Loki lets the cloth go, allowing Dodger to take care of his nose himself.]
I'm sure it will, but that doesn't mean I want your blood all over my couch.
[His tone is light, wanting Dodger to know he doesn't actually mind, but he does still want to take him to the washroom, even if only to get a better look at him under the brighter lights in there.
Now that is something interesting. Though he's hardly surprised to hear of someone meeting other versions of him, he hasn't met many people who could see other lives. At least not without some TVA technology.]
I think I'm more curious than I am worried, though this doesn't seem to be good for you physically. May I see the brand? And if you wouldn't mind telling me everything you can about it. How did you get it, how long have you had it, how often is it causing these memory bleeds, that sort of thing.
[The truth is, none of Loki's abilities have much to do with runes or brands, but he has studied them a bit and if he has more information he thinks he might be able to try something out even if this isn't the sort of magic that comes naturally to him.]
[Dodger nods, and does finally get up to let himself be led to the washroom. Even if he thinks the bleeding will stop by the time they get there, it would probably be nice to wash his face and not be smelling gasoline-tainted blood during this whole conversation.]
Here, I'll show you in a second. My- uh... someone I know here, gave it to me. Back in early October. We were both flaring and... thought it would be a good idea, I guess, but now he won't take it off. It's magic from his world, makes it so he can shut off my powers. And it hurts like hell when he does it.
[Once he's situated himself in front of the sink and confirmed that his nose isn't going to bleed onto his clothes, Dodger lifts his shirt to show a bright red tiger lily among his other tattoos. Several jagged scars run across it, the result of him cutting into himself with a knife while trying to figure out a way to neutralize it.]
The memory bleeds are- older. They're something that happened back home. Someone rooted around in my head a few too many times and left holes behind, I'm not expecting a fix for that.
[Once in the washroom, Loki turns on the light and runs the water in the sink to wash down any possible blood that might still be flowing. As with branding and runes, Loki doesn't have much magical skill when it comes to first aid, but he's certainly patched up enough wounds before (the perils of being Thor's brother) so at least the blood doesn't bother him.]
Someone you know here?
[Loki tries to sound casual with his question, but it's clear that it's information Dodger is hiding from him. Normally he wouldn't press, but knowing who cast a spell is often a huge help in finding a way to reverse it. And if that person is still here, they are the best option to remove it. Baring that, knowing who it is and where they're from could help as well.]
Do you know why he refuses to remove it? I don't suppose there is any way to change his mind? I might be able to help you, but the fastest way to achieve removal is by having the mage who put it in place remove it.
[When Dodger removes his shirt, Loki steps in a bit closer to get a better look and reaches out to touch it without thinking. Dodger is free to move back to not have Loki touch him, but if he doesn't move, Loki won't stop.]
So the memory bleeds have nothing to do with this current issue. The problem is more that this person you know has the ability to shut off your powers which is both horribly intrusive and painful.
[Dodger might not have said anything about it being intrusive, but as someone who has had his own powers shut off before, he knows that it is.]
[It is incredibly intrusive, that's the main issue Dodger has with it. Losing his powers by itself isn't really a problem, he's wanted to shut his powers off before when they're out of control, but having them taken away painfully and against his will is entirely different.
His gaze lowers.]
He thinks I'll try and hurt him if he doesn't have a way to stop me. And he doesn't believe me that I really don't want anything to do with him.
[Which... he's not entirely truthful here either. He doesn't like where he and Esikko are currently at, but he doesn't want to completely lose him either. He wants to go back to Esikko letting him hang around, and back to feeling useful. And he doesn't think it's his fault that Esikko makes him violently angry every time they talk to each other.]
If you can convince him, more power to you. But he's stubborn.
[Now that is an interesting response. One that is at least somewhat familiar to Loki, considering his own history. There are plenty of people who think he would hurt them and would want to turn off his powers. And some who have.]
I take it you had a bit of a falling out then. I can't say I haven't been in similar situations myself, but I can tell you I am very good at talking people around. Of course, I can't do that if I don't know who it is I'm suppose to be speaking with.
