“There's no limit to human cruelty. Just imagination.”
CHARACTER SUMMARY
Dodger comes from a futuristic version of Boston, Massachusetts. Within his world, a relatively new and poorly-understood phenomenon has caused some humans to be born with powers - some, like Dodger's, are incredibly powerful and well-suited to their user, while others can be actively dangerous or deadly to the user. In his own words, "not every fire-starter is fire-proof". Non-mutants (mundanes) are extremely distrustful of mutants, which means that most mutants who can't hide their mutation end up in low-grade or illegal work. Dodger is one such criminal - he has never been able to hide his mutations, and has never been particularly motivated to try, and so he has resigned himself to always having his hands dirty.

First impressions of Dodger are usually distinctly negative. He is cocky, brash and not afraid to openly threaten others to get what he wants, and his power set makes it incredibly dangerous to tell him no. But for reasons that even he himself doesn't entirely understand, he tends to draw others to him, and once someone manages a connection with him he tends to hold onto that forever. Back home, he is something of an urban legend - either a fire-powered maniac that comes to collect when you haven't paid off your debts to the Atlas Corporation, or more rarely, a mutant-rights fanatic who seems willing to do just about anything to break the chains that mutants are born into. The truth is... not somewhere in the middle, it's both very much at once.

More detailed info here, including senses information (sight/sound/etc) and a list of his many, many tattoos. His suit tattoo is a heart made of flowers, located above his shoulder-blades at the base of his neck.
OUT OF CHARACTER
▶ BACKTAGGING.
▷ Always okay! Please poke me if it's been a week and you'd like to keep a thread going.
▶ THREADJACKING.
▷ Always okay! (Especially if someone needs to be rescued from him)
▶ FOURTHWALLING.
▷ N/A unless your character's seen the one page of my comic he's in lol. General knowledge of mutants/superheroes is totally okay though!
▶ OFF-LIMITS.
▷ The word "deglove" (the associated action is fine), graphic descriptions of teeth/eye gore (brief is fine)
▶ SHIPPING.
▷ Always, absolutely, YES! Dodger is bisexual and open to anyone 16+, although he gravitates toward older men. Fair warning that Dodger will likely cheat on his partners and weasel out of boundaries set in his relationships, regardless of how much he cares for them.
▶ TAG STYLE.
▷ Usually brackets for network and prose for in-person but I can adjust to my partner! Also don't mind swapping mid-thread.
▶ OTHER.
▷ I'm in EST, and I try to tag every other day at least but sometimes I get buried in work. Never be afraid to come bother me, I love talking to other people!
IN CHARACTER
▶ HUGGING.
▷ He's not amazingly comfortable with it, but he'll generally put up with it. The more he knows someone, the more affectionate he can be, but he is not a fan of strangers touching him.
▶ KISSING.
▷ He is, ironically, much more comfortable with this than hugging. Although he's likely to try to escalate as much as he can, because he's far more comfortable with sexual contact than anything romantic or platonic.
▶ FLIRTING.
▷ Absolutely! He will flirt back with pretty much anyone - he's aware of how pretty he is, and he likes knowing that other people agree. Similar to above, he's likely to get pushy if he feels like there's an opportunity to escalate.
▶ ROMANCE.
▷ YESSSS. Dodger is... not boyfriend material, by a long shot, but does fall for others easily and tends to get very attached to people who give him attention. He'll most likely end up with several relationships at once, and he's unlikely to actually tell any of them that he's not fully committed. (He's not poly, he just likes having options.)
▶ FIGHTING.
▷ Absolutely! Dodger is ready and willing to fight anyone at a moment's notice, and is an incredibly deadly opponent, but not invincible. I'm down for either plotting to pick a winner, rolling dice or just winging it to see where they end up. Fair warning that superheroes and people of a similar power level will have the best chance of uh... coming out in one piece.
▶ INJURY.
▷ Always a yes! Blanket permission to give him bruises or cuts, but please let me know if you're planning to give him permanent (or just long-term) damage so I can keep threads consistent. Breaking his leg, giving him new scars, that sort of thing.
▶ DEATH.
▷ Also absolutely okay! I want to limit it somewhat, but sometimes that's just how he needs to learn. Please plot with me beforehand, but I'll most likely say yes!
▶ PHYSICAL MANIPULATION.
▷ Absolutely! He is difficult to move, but not impossible - and he actually really likes meeting people who can shove him around.
▶ MENTAL MANIPULATION.
▷ Absolutely! He is suspicious but ironically still pretty easy to manipulate (and characters who can read or control minds may get to find out interesting weird lore about him!)
▶ OTHER.
▷ Dodger has a universe-specific illness that makes him allergic to time paradoxes. In terms of permissions, this means that he may occasionally remember snippets of CR with characters he hasn't technically met yet (as long as he HAS met them in a different game). I will always try to reach out before he has one of these episodes but if you'd like an easy incentive to start CR, let me know and I will check if he's met your character before!
